Assignment

Prepare a three-five minute oral presentation of a person related to the events surrounding the dropping of the A-bomb on Hiroshima or its after effects (bomb/peace related)

Biography Set-up

1. Engaging introduction

2. Background history of character

3. Situation before, during, after the dropping of the A-bomb

4. Problems s/he had to overcome

5. Greatest accomplishment

6. Death or what is currently happening in life today

7. Conclusion – six-ten sentences describing your feelings about this person. Do you admire s/he? Why or why not? Would this person have been a good friend? Are you inspired because of this person’s life? Why or why not? How does the World remember this person in an historical context?

8. Write your biography on a separate sheet of paper (may be hand written/computer generated – 1.5 spacing)

9. Each page should include at the top of the page the following in the order given:

• your name
• your grade
• the due date
• the title of the assignment
• the name of the person you have chosen to write about

10. Your biography should be informative, detailed and accurate

11. Proper grammar, spelling and punctuation are expected.

Presentation: You will create a "Biography Billboard" of your famous person to use during your presentation. (see example below)
